Machine-written summary
Summary written by Claude Haiku from the source advisory. Not reviewed by a person.
Versions 3.0.0 through 3.0.13 and 2.2.0 through 2.16.1 of org.asynchttpclient:async-http-client are affected when WebSocket compression is enabled, since inflated permessage-deflate messages have no size limit. A malicious or compromised WebSocket server, or an attacker on the path of a ws:// connection, can send a small compressed message that inflates to about 2 GiB, exhausting the client's heap. Upgrade to 3.0.14, which adds a limit on decompressed message size. The 2.x line will not receive a fix. Leaving WebSocket compression disabled, the default, avoids the issue.
