elFinder versions before 2.1.70 (Packagist package Studio-42/elFinder) let the extract command bypass the uploadDeny MIME filter. A PHP file type such as .phtml, .phar, .php5 or .php3 that is blocked on direct upload can be placed inside a ZIP archive and extracted into the web-accessible files directory, where the web server may run it as PHP. An attacker who is allowed to upload ZIP archives could therefore achieve remote code execution. Upgrade to elFinder 2.1.70, which fixes the issue.
