Machine-written summary
Summary written by Claude Haiku from the source advisory. Not reviewed by a person.
Vikunja versions before 2.6.0 do not apply the pre-auth rate limit to their v2 public API routes, such as login, registration, password-reset token and OAuth token endpoints, while the equivalent v1 routes are throttled. On a default installation, an unauthenticated network attacker can make unlimited attempts against these endpoints, which enables credential guessing, account enumeration and password-reset flooding. Upgrade to Vikunja 2.6.0 or later. The source gives no workaround other than enabling the global rate limiter, which is off by default.
